Install Recommendations
Pole Mount
• Install the RSA IVR and camera modules at least 10 ft above ground level to reduce the risk of tampering.
• The total system weight is approximately 40 lb, plus any customer-provided wiring and conduit.
• Each module weighs no more than 20 lb, allowing for easier handling and installation.
• The installer must evaluate the pole, site conditions, and foundation to ensure they can support the required load and recommend reinforcement if needed.
Roof Mount
• The system weighs approximately 40 lb, plus any customer-provided wiring and conduit.
• Each module is under 20 lb, allowing for easy handling and installation.
• The installer must supply a ballast or anchoring solution suitable for the customer’s roof type and local weather or seismic conditions.
• In hot climates or on sun-exposed rooftops, adding a sun shade for the IVR module is recommended to help prevent overheating.
Wall Mount
Mount RSA IVR and camera modules at least 10 ft above ground to minimize tampering.
The system weighs approximately 40 lb, excluding customer-provided wiring and conduit.
Each module weighs no more than 20 lb for ease of handling and installation.
The installer must evaluate the customer’s structure to ensure adequate load-bearing capacity and recommend reinforcement if required.
STEP 01: OPEN IVR MODULE
Complete Steps 1–5 on the ground before mounting the module on the pole.
STEP 02: REMOVE POWER CONDUIT
Locate the power conduit on the left side of the IVR module and unplug the 2-pin power connector.
Unscrew the conduit nut and remove the power conduit.
Allow the black 4-pin data cable to slide out of the conduit and coil it inside the IVR module.
STEP 03: INSTALL AC POWER SUPPLY
Mount the AC power supply on the DIN rail at the bottom of the IVR module.
The AC power supply is included in the HW-RSA-11WKIT Wall Power Kit.
Snap the AC power supply into place on the DIN rail.
STEP 04: INSTALL AC POWER CONDUIT
Install the AC power conduit on the left side of the IVR module.
The conduit is included in the HW-RSA-11WKIT Wall Power Kit.
Ensure the 3-pin AC power connector is inside the IVR module.
Tighten the conduit nut to make the connection waterproof.
STEP 05: CONNECT AC POWER SUPPLY
Connect the 3-pin AC power connector between the AC power conduit and the AC power supply.
Connect the 2-pin DC power connector between the AC power supply and the 24V RSA terminal block.
Attach the ground ring to the M4 stud inside the enclosure using the provided M4 kep nut.
STEP 06A: ATTACH IVR MOUNTING FRAME TO STRUCTURE (POLE INSTALLS)
Temporarily secure the mounting frame to the pole using the provided large zip tie.
Permanently attach the frame using the four provided hose clamps.
Tighten hose clamps to 4 Nm (3 ft-lb) with a 7 mm socket.
Remove the temporary zip tie once the frame is secured.
STEP 06B: ATTACH IVR MOUNTING FRAME TO STRUCTURE (WALL/ROOF INSTALLS)
Secure the mounting frame to the structure at the indicated locations using the four provided masonry anchors or an alternative mounting system.
For the provided masonry anchors, drill a 3/8” pilot hole 3” deep and tighten anchors to 33 Nm (25 ft-lb) using a 9/16” socket.
STEP 07: INSTALL IVR MODULE
Mount the IVR module onto the IVR mounting frame.
Secure it using the four provided M8 × 20 bolts.
Tighten bolts to approximately 15 Nm (10 ft-lb) using the provided T40 Security Torx Allen key.
STEP 08: ATTACH HEAD UNIT TO STRUCTURE
For Pole Installs:
Attach the head unit mounting frame to the pole using the provided hose clamps.
Use a large zip tie if needed to hold the bracket in place during installation temporarily.
Tighten hose clamps to 4 Nm (3 ft-lb) with a 7 mm socket.
For Wall Installs:
Secure the head unit mounting frame to the structure using the four provided masonry anchors or an alternative mounting system.
For the provided masonry anchors, drill a 3/8” pilot hole 3” deep and tighten anchors to 33 Nm (25 ft-lb) with a 9/16” socket.
For All Installs:
Attach the head unit to the head unit mounting frame using the four provided M8 × 20 bolts.
Tighten bolts to approximately 15 Nm (10 ft-lb) using the provided T40 Torx Allen key.
STEP 09: CONNECT DATA CONDUIT
Install the data conduit fitting at the bottom of the head unit.
Plug the 6-pin connector from the conduit into the corresponding connector on the head unit.
Connect the four Ethernet cables from the conduit to the matching connectors on the cameras and speaker.
STEP 10: CONNECT AC POWER CONDUIT TO GRID POWER (120–220V AC)
Before installation, unplug the 3-pin AC power connector inside the IVR module.
Connect the hot, neutral, and ground wires of the AC power conduit to the 120V AC grid supply.
Reconnect the 3-pin AC power connector to power on the RSA system.
NOTE: The installer must provide a waterproof junction box with a knockout for 1” trade-size conduit (1 3/8” hole) and run the appropriate conduit to the main distribution panel.
Always follow safe practices and comply with all applicable local and national electrical codes.
STEP 11: CHECK CONNECTIONS
Connect the RSA system to power and wait about 30 seconds for the green lights to appear on the Ethernet connectors for the cameras and speaker inside the head unit.
Allow approximately 5 minutes for the RSA system to complete boot-up and connect to the cloud.
STEP 12: ADD DEVICE TO DASHBOARD
Make sure you are logged into the correct Spot Customer Dashboard. Contact your Spot Admin if you need access.
Locate the QR code label inside the IVR module.
Scan the QR code to add the RSA device to the dashboard. The serial number (SN) should populate automatically.
If the serial number does not populate, enter it manually. The SN can be found inside the IVR module.
STEP 13: CAMERA SETUP & VERIFICATION
Visually inspect each camera.
Adjust camera angles as needed to ensure optimal coverage.
STEP 14: TEST LIGHTS & BULLHORN
From the Spot Dashboard live view, activate the lights and confirm they are functioning correctly.
Play a test message to verify sound output from the speaker.
WARNING: The speaker is very loud. Ensure all personnel maintain a safe distance before testing
STEP 15: COIL AND MANAGE CONDUITS & CABLES
Neatly coil and organize all conduits and cables.
If possible, secure at least one bolt into the pole to prevent the unit from sliding due to wind or vibration.
Use the provided 300 mm (12 in) zip ties to coil and manage conduits and cables
