Recommendations for Cleaning Solar Panels

There may be times when the solar panels on the RSA units would need some cleaning for optimal use:

For cleaning dirty solar panels on the camera units, we recommend a gentle manual cleaning while keeping the unit online. Ideally, clean the panels early in the morning or on a cloudy day when the surface is cool. Rinse the panel with a garden hose using a gentle spray to remove loose dirt, then wipe the surface with a soft-bristled brush or microfiber cloth and clean water.

For stubborn spots such as bird droppings or tree sap, a small amount of mild dish soap mixed with water can be used. Please avoid pressure washers, harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, or spraying cold water on hot panels, as these may damage the glass, coating, or seals. Once cleaned, rinse thoroughly and wipe or squeegee off excess water to help prevent spotting.
