The Autotracking feature on Axis P5655-E PTZ cameras is designed to automatically follow moving objects within the camera’s field of view. It combines the camera’s pan, tilt, and zoom (PTZ) capabilities with intelligent tracking so the camera can keep a moving target in focus without manual control
Step 1:
Log in to the camera using the Native Camera Configuration
Step 2:
Go to User Menu → Change Account, then switch to the Admin account.
If you are already on an admin account, no need to change
Default credentials: ( if your credentials are different, try that)
Username: root
Password: pass
Step 3:
Navigate to PTZ → Preset Position, then move the camera to the desired “Home” position.
Click “Create Preset Position” and enable the “Home Position” toggle.
Step 4:
Navigate to Apps, then enable Video Motion Detection and Autotracking.
Step 5:
Open the AXIS Video Motion Detection app and define the detection area—this is the region where the camera will detect and track motion.
Step 6
Go to System → Events.
Click “Add a Rule”.
Name the rule “Gatekeeper”.
Set Condition to “VMD 4: Profile 1”.
Set Action to “Start temporary detection”.
Set Preset Position to the Home Position you created in Step 3.
Click Save. ( You are all set)
