Requesting Firmware upgrade

When a new SPOT IVR is deployed, it will automatically initiate an upgrade process upon coming online, provided it has a stable connection to the internet and backend servers.

Upgrade Timeline and Process

  1. System Initialization:

    • Once powered on, the IVR establishes a connection to the network and backend servers.

    • It verifies internet access and ensures connectivity with the necessary servers.

  2. Auto-Upgrade Trigger:

    • The IVR system automatically checks for available updates upon successful connection.

    • If an update is available, the IVR begins downloading and applying the upgrade.

  3. Upgrade Duration:

    • The entire upgrade process typically takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

    • During this time, the IVR should remain connected without interruption.

Troubleshooting Upgrade Issues

If the IVR does not initiate or complete the upgrade process within the expected timeframe, follow these steps:

  1. Check Firewall Settings:.

    • Ensure that the firewall settings allow the IVR to communicate with all required outbound ports and URLs needed for the upgrade process.

  2. Confirm Network Connectivity

    • Check Network has proper bandwidth to upgrade IVR.

    • Make sure there is no packet loss or Internet connectivity loss.

By ensuring proper firewall configurations and network accessibility, the IVR can complete its auto-upgrade process without delays.

If the IVR still has not upgraded to the latest firmware after verifying the above details, open a support ticket with detailed information, including the IVR serial number, organization name, and location name.
