Network Configuration Checklist for New Internet Service
Firewall Configuration – Ensure that the necessary firewall ports are open to support IVR and camera connectivity.
DHCP Settings – If your network relies on DHCP, enable DHCP on the new router to assign IP addresses to the IVR and cameras.
Private vs. Public IPs – Verify that the new internet service provides private IP addresses rather than public IPs for security and proper network functionality.
Static IP Considerations for IVR – If the IVR was previously set to a static IP, enable DHCP temporarily to obtain a new IP address from the new router. Once assigned, you can revert to a static IP if needed. Here is guidance
Bandwidth Requirements – Ensure the new service offers sufficient bandwidth to support smooth video streaming and device connectivity.
Camera & NVR Pairing – Confirm all connected cameras remain properly linked to the NVR after the switch. Some may require reconfiguration, if cameras are set statically on different subnet configure that subnet on IVR
